Ah, Bali - the land of beautiful beaches, lush rice paddies, and vibrant nightlife. From beautiful nature scenery to impressive bars and clubs. If you're a solo traveler looking for fun and adventure, Bali is the place to be. If you're feeling particularly daring, why not check out the clubbing scene on your own? Here are some tips and tricks for solo clubbing in Bali.
First things first: dress to impress.

You don't want to be the only one in a crowd of stylish Balinese locals and tourists looking like a frumpy tourist. Put on your best outfit, fix your hair, and slather on some sunscreen (for beach bars during the day), and waterproof mascara (because let's be real, you'll be dancing up a storm and sweating like crazy). Bali is very casual and almost everything goes. Whether it's a little black dress from Shein or a plain white bikini, nothing is the "wrong" attire in Bali. It's truly the place to live your best life with no clothing style expectations or restrictions.
Next, let's talk about meeting new people.
Solo clubbing can be intimidating, especially in a foreign country. Fear not, Bali is generally a very safe place. Just make sure to keep your wits about you and keep an eye on your drink. If a guy or gal starts getting too friendly, just flash them a smile and say "No thanks, I'm just here to dance" or "No thanks, I'm just here to find myself" depending on where on the island you are. Bali has an extremely spiritual side to the island as well as an extremely hectic party scene. The perfect example would be if you've watched the movie Couples Retreat, 2009, Bali's island setup is very much like that! However, today we are focusing on the clubbing aspect. There's nothing sexier than someone who's confident on the dance floor. So don't be afraid to bust out your best moves and strut your stuff. A tip; if you're feeling a bit shy, just grab a drink at the bar and people-watch until you're ready to join in and mingle.
Now, let's talk about the potential for romance.
Solo clubbing can be a great way to meet new people and maybe even find a fling. I've blogged about this before in "The Cruel Truth About Holiday Romance." This is partly a more in-depth continuation of that. If you are unsure about what I am referring to, feel free to go back and take a look at that blog post! As we continue to discuss this, keep in mind safety first! For those looking for a more intimate experience in Bali, remember to always use protection and make sure you're comfortable with whomever you're getting cozy with. If things start to get too hot and heavy, just remember no one wants to leave Bali with an unexpected plus one, so (here is a tip for the men, keep a few extra condoms in your wallet, just in case). Bali is a wild journey and if you're visiting specifically for the opportunity to meet other sexy singles, remember to act respectfully and responsibly, not just towards one another, but the locals surrounding you. You are still a tourist on their island.
Of course, I am going to give you some safety tips for my solo travelers who enjoy clubbing;
1. Research the clubs beforehand and choose ones with good reviews and safety records.
2. Let someone know where you're going and when you expect to be back.
3. Avoid drinking without eating a meal beforehand.
4. Keep an eye on your drink at all times to prevent drink spiking, especially when you've gone clubbing solo.
5. Avoid leaving the club with strangers, even if they seem friendly. If you have met some new people and decide to go to the after-party, go with a familiar friend and let someone know!
6. Be aware of your surroundings and stay in well-lit areas.
7. Keep your belongings close to you and avoid carrying large amounts of cash. No one wants to lose a phone on a good night out!
8. Use reputable transportation services to get to and from the club. Uber is usually the best option.
9. Trust your instincts and leave if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
So there you have it, my sexy, single, adventure-seeking friends - a flirty, light, and humorous guide to solo clubbing in Bali. Just remember to dress to impress, stay safe, let loose on the dance floor, and respect the locals. Happy travels, and happy clubbing! Be brave, and live your best life!
